METALS: December gold futures closed down $6.40 at $1,108.20 today. The market was pressured by a firmer U.S. dollar today. Prices closed nearer the session low today after hitting another fresh contract and all-time record high. Prices also scored a mildly bearish "outside day" down on the daily bar chart today. If there is strong follow-through selling pressure on Friday, including a bearish weekly low close, then a bearish "key reversal" down on the daily chart would be confirmed.

December silver futures closed down 23.2 cents at $17.305 an ounce today. Prices closed nearer the session low and scored a bearish "outside day" down on the daily chart today. The key outside markets were in a bearish posture for silver today, as crude oil prices were sharply lower, stock indexes weaker and the U.S. dollar index was higher. The silver bulls still have the near-term technical advantage.

December N.Y. copper closed down 270 points at 293.90 cents today. Prices closed near the session low today.
