I live a carbon friendly, composting, recycling lifestyle and owned a bush I loved when in Canada. I will be installing solar energy on my home in Australia.
NONETHELESS, I watch that and see an exploitave, overfed, bald head leaping gnome blowing hyperbole about the sizes and issues the issues of an incredibly small segment of the population who has never seen the incredible poverty of parts of Thailand let alone walked alone amongst the people of Dhaka Bangladesh.
Some people would love to live with a stable power supply, free of pollution (and you aint seen nothing till you see the smog of a place like dhaka, you need to be chemically washed to rid youself of the smell) instead of worrying about a very small part the world ... a 100 year old tree is a baby, and there is a larger population than Florida living in Dhaka. The world is voting when they wish to grow their economies so they can live their lives half as well as this guy who's livelihood and wealth is based upon a crusade against ... is that not polyester he is wearing ... isnt that oil based? Why is he not wearing renewable hemp and living in bamboo which regenerates quickly.
Paint me a cynic, paint me anti aboriginal, paint me how you like but don't buy the crap some people spew ... anybody check out how much he spent to offset the carbon emission while he takes his award (who gave those awards) photographs of) from private air craft?
Sorry, the world needs people who sympathize with all of humanity not just fat cat North's American's spouting off about long term survival when people die everyday from lack of access to affordable energy.
Will humanity survive long term ... not likely ... people are already evolving and living in squalor, heat and air conditions which are destructive ... will it earth continue to sustain 7+ billion people .. I doubt it ... its called evolution and we are just another species whose extinction will likely be inevitable even if it through a meteor or the sun burning up ... OH WELL thats just the way it is.
