I was reading a magazine at a clinic and my attention was drawn to a group of investors who are moving into aternative energy in Canada in a big way. These are entrepreneurs in their own right. Anyway what caught my eye was a reference by one of the leaders in this group that his focus in this phase of his life was driven by reading a book entitled "Natural Capitalsim - alternative energy the next industrial revolution." (name of author slips my mind now). This savy investor sold off his software company for a cool multi million dollars in the bank, and appears to be placing his bet in solar. I think oil and gas are past their prime. Have you wondered why when oil was at $70, stocks like Petro Canada was selling at $55. Today oil is at $97, and PCA is hovering at $50. There is a disconnect and surely does not make investment sense. It makes one wonder if this is a harbinger of worse days for oil vis-a-vis the concern about global climate changes.
