AGORACOM Maintenance Alert: Going Offline Tonight, and Friday night for about an hour

Dear Members.

AGORACOM will be updating our server framework tonight and tomorrow night. As a result our discussion forums will be down for 1 hour or less.

These problems stemmed from our recent switch to a new web host and some issues with our DNS records (the settings that tell your web browser where our website is located). We believe we have squashed these bugs and are looking forward to pushing these updates through.

In anticipation of this scheduled maintenance we suggest the following:

1. If you are going to post any long and intensive material after 6PM either tonight or on Friday night, save a copy. We don’t expect to lose any data from the last 2-3 hours but better to be safe than sorry

2. Our blog (which you are reading right now) and Twitter account will be unaffected during the downtime, so feel free to contact us at either if you have any issues and can’t reach us through the site.

Best thing to do is to post comments on our blog. Alternatively you can reach us by emailing contactagora@agoracom.com

3. We expect the migration to be very smooth but please let us know if you have any issues.

4. If you are in Toronto, or the GTA, enjoy the weather! Summer is here so go out and have some fun!

We trust the above to be satisfactory as we strive to continually provide you with a great AGORACOM experience.

Thanks,
George and the AGORACOM Team

SRK Consulting completes preliminary reconnaissance of portions of Atomic's Mbinga project area in Tanzania

VANCOUVER, Sep. 16, 2008 (Canada NewsWire via COMTEX News Network) --

TSX-V: ATL

FRG: MJ7

Atomic Minerals Ltd. (ATL: TSX-V) is pleased to announce the completion of a preliminary reconnaissance of portions of PLR 4335, located in the Mbinga District of south-western Tanzania, which was undertaken by SRK Consulting - East Africa ("SRK-EA").

Previous Exploration

A country-wide radiometric survey flown in the mid-1970's identified the occurrence of several radioactive anomalies in the Mbinga area. In addition, the reconnaissance exploration completed by Uranerzbergbau GmbH between 1979 and 1982 determined that the area was prospective for uranium. A ground radiometric survey undertaken by Geo Can Resources Company Ltd ("Geo Can") in 2007, identified three radiometric anomalies, on which a total of 8 trenches were excavated, logged, radiometrically profiled and channel sampled. A single soil sample from a trench analysed by the International Plasma Laboratory Limited (IPLL), of Richmond, British Columbia, Canada, reported 349ppm Th, 33% Fe and 14.9% Ti (ICPM analysis in soil). Follow-up whole rock and ICPM analysis of the same soil sample reported 46.36% Fe2O3 and 31.27% TiO2. Readers should note that this data IS NOT compliant with the standards set out by the CIM or with National Instrument 43-101, and should be viewed as historical in nature.

Programme Objectives

SRK-EA was contracted by Atomic to evaluate the anomalous areas of PLR 4335 identified by Geo Can, initially in order to obtain insight of the geological setting of the area and to investigate the heavy mineral sand and radioactive mineral potential of both the Kihanga Bay and Hinga Bay areas, situated in the north-western portion of PLR 4335, proximal to the shoreline of Lake Nyasa. A total of 22 pits were excavated in the Kihanga Bay area, adjacent to the four initial prospect trenches excavated by Geo Can, and an additional 5 pits were excavated in the Hinga Bay area. All the pits were geologically logged and channel sampled, with 20kg samples being taken per lithological horizon. In addition, scintillometer and Niton XRF measurements were taken.

Anomalous thorium results were recorded in the prospecting pits excavated in the Kihanga Bay area, on radiometric highs identified by previous airborne and ground radiometric surveys.

SRK-EA is presently preparing a representative suite of samples which will be forwarded for laboratory investigation, to corroborate the thorium measurements obtained to date, and to determine the mineralogical assemblage(s) in which the thorium occurs. A detailed report will be compiled once the results of the laboratory test work have been received.

Qualified Person

Mr. Peter Chadwick, M.Sc., P.Geo., Pr.Sci.Nat., is the Vice-President of Exploration (Africa) for Atomic Minerals Ltd., and is the Qualified Person (as defined by National Instrument 43-101) responsible for the accuracy of the technical information contained in this news release.

About Atomic Minerals

---------------------

Atomic holds an option to earn up to a 100% interest in a land package totalling approximately 3800 square kilometres located in the United Republic of Tanzania (the "Properties") from Geo Can. The largest of the Properties are located in south-western Tanzania and are considered to be part of the "Malawi Extension" based on the location of the Property relative to blocks earmarked as potentially favourable for uranium enrichment. The Malawi Extension, located in the Republic of Malawi on southwest border of Tanzania, hosts the Kayelekera deposit which Paladin Resources is currently developing into a mine. Other mining companies exploring in the area include Mantra Resources and Western Metals (both in Tanzania).
