FWIW, I think it's a difficult job investing for the spouse/partner, whether they are female or male.  When you make an investment desision for yourself, you are convinced that there is a greater potential upside than downside risk.  Your spouse /partner may not always share your point of view or have the same risk tolerance.  

I have bought ARU for my husband's account on the dips, and traded out when the price recovers.  He is not comfortable with the wild swings every time a negative article appears.  Can't say that I am comfortable either on those downdraft days.  I continue to hold for the long term, believing that one day I'll get to say" Today's the DAY".  I have bought some high,  some low, and haven't sold any of "my"stock.
