11:49 AM EST, 01/23/2017 (MT Newswires) -- Balmoral Resources (BAR.TO) surged 12% in recent trade on the back of positive results from drilling of the Bug South Gold Deposit of Martiniere Property in Quebec.

Drilling intersected 41.95 meters grading 3.24 gram per tonne (g/t) gold including 11.58 meters grading 6.30 g/t gold. The company also intersected a new zone of zinc-lead-silver-gold veining at shallow depth in hole MDE-16-245.

The stock moves within a 52-week range of $0.34 - $1.28.
