The Global "Scramble Afoot"

posted on Jun 20, 09 11:55PM

John Kaiser in the current Northern Miner June 2009 issue of "Mining Markets", says:

"There is a scramble afoot now to nail down security of supply of raw materials. Base metal juniors are going to get taken out and liquidity is going to be flushed into the system. May even see in 2010 an exploration type of market rather than the pounds or ounces-in-the-ground market that we have right now."

Love that Kaiser-talk of "scramble afoot." Visions of Holmes and Dr. Watson scurrying around London circa 1888.

But not to digress.

Apparently, companies Hudson Bay Minerals are sitting on a large amount of cash and are looking for acquisitions and strategic opportunities in base metals.

Lawrence Roulston noted a very similiar theme in an excellent interview on BNN on June 19.
