La Mina Porphyry Gold Project, Colombia

Overview
La Mina (also known as Fredonia and Venecia) is an early-stage porphyry gold-copper project located in the Middle Cauca volcano-plutonic belt in the Department of Antioquia about 45 km southwest of Medellin. The Middle Cauca belt is known to host large porphyry gold deposits such as AngloGold's La Colosa (12.9 Moz Au contained in 468 Mt @ 0.86 g/t Au) and Sunward Resources' Titiribi (3.7 Moz Au contained in 230 Mt @ 0.5 g/t Au).

The property is accessible by paved and improved dirt roads. The known discovery is located between 1,750- 1,850 m with power, water, and labor readily available.

Project History
The La Mina concession has been the subject of geologic mapping and rock, trench & stream-sediment sampling. A joint venture between AngloGold Ashanti and Bema Gold (later B2Gold) drilled six holes into the La Mina porphyry in mid-2006. Work after the drilling included a detailed regional airborne magnetic/radiometric survey followed by soil and rock geochemical sampling over identified airborne magnetic anomalies.

Exploration Targets
Most gold and copper discovered thus is spatially associated with quartzmagnetite-chalcopyrite+/-bornite veinlets in potassic altered porphyry and breccias containing elevated quantities of hydrothermal magnetite. As a result, the gold-bearing rocks are highly magnetic.

La Cantera
AngloGold Ashanti/Bema Gold drilled six holes into the La Cantera porphyry target. Holes 2 and 5 yielding 90+ m intercepts of greater than 1 g/t Au and significant copper at shallow depths. Drill-holes 4 and 6 also contained significant values located near the surface.
