If we choose to produce the gold ourselves and we decide to joint venture the operation with a Major, I assume our management is quite aware of junior mining companies that have had great properties, only to have them iced by a behemoth partner that calls the shots. The partner finds it useful to slow down the project while it depletes some of its own properties elsewhere. Meanwhile, the shareholders of the junior companies end up thinking about jumping out of windows, because their wonderful stock never goes anywhere.
