CAPITAL GOLD CONTINUES RECORD PRODUCTION INCREASES

Capital Gold Corp. has produced 13,646 ounces of gold in the second fiscal quarter of 2009 (ended Jan. 31, 2009) at its El Chanate mine in Sonora, Mexico. This represents a 15-per-cent increase over the fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31, 2008, and a 39-per-cent increase over the same period in the prior fiscal year.

Gross proceeds from the quarter were approximately $11-million on 13,277 ounces of gold sold, with an average sale price of approximately $827 per ounce. This represents an increase of gross proceeds of 20 per cent over the fiscal quarter ended Oct. 31, 2008, and a 36-per-cent increase over the same period in the prior fiscal year.
