TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 3, 2011) - Centamin Egypt Limited ("Centamin" or "the Company") (TSX:CEE)(LSE:CEY), the gold mining group in Egypt, is pleased to announce the commencement of ore commissioning activities for its Stage 3 secondary crushing circuit at its Sukari Gold Mine.


Continuous ore feed commenced on 01 May 2011, almost 2 months ahead of schedule with no material problems or concerns arising during initial ore feed.


It is expected that once commissioning activities are completed, and optimum product and feed size determined, the enlarged circuit will be capable of delivering up to 5 Mtpa process rate by early in the third quarter, up from the current 4 Mtpa design capacity.


The Company has achieved one of its key objectives for 2011 ahead of schedule and on budget, and looks forward to continuing to deliver on its stated targets for 2011.
