When is the end of 2007 Tax Selling?

Whenever you place a transaction to sell or buy, it becomes effective 3 business days after the transaction takes place. So the last day someone can sell to have the transaction reflect on 2007 will be Monday, December 24, 2007, on which day the markets are open for half day. So the next 3 business days will be Thursday December 27, Friday December 28 and Monday December 31.

However, people (unless they don’t know) will not wait until the last moment to sale. Therefore, most people feel that the tax selling will be done by Wednesday this week.
