 You remind me of that old horse racing joke: a trainer yells at a losing jockey - "I thought I told you to stay close in the backstretch then come on in the clubhouse turn!" The jockey looks at him a moment then replies.  "Well, I remembered what you told me, but I figured I'd better stay on the horse."
