Does this mean I do not have to declare a gain this year unless I actually sell Cliffs shares? Still not clear?

This merger makes no difference on our present tax decl. which is for 2009 In my case I have flipped already my CLF holding twice so for the next declaration (for 2010) I'll have to pay the tax of cap. gain in 2011.
