You are absolutely right..... but Venezuela will have to come to grips with the reality of the situation. Nobody will pour 500 mil into a mine at discount profit levels and they can't afford to even consider doing it themselves.....no technology....no money. Two key ingredients, without which, they will have to bend or relegate gold mining to the back shelf.

Be assured, anybody who has the money to build this project will do it on their terms, not Hugo's. You can't allow a moron like Hugo the latitude to tell the mining companies how to operate a project of this magnitude, that's ridiculous. There no doubt will be compromises but to inject say 500m into this project it will have to be profitable and not just marginally.

We shall see. They might be more lenient with the Chinese who could be a very valuable partner in other future developments.....oil, gas, forestry all natural resource based projects, which they will need desperately.
