Velasquez set out before the average nationals the formulated denunciation the week last in Guayana
The leader of the Cause R, Andres Velasquez, denounced east Friday in Caracas that CVG Bauxilum is causing serious damages in the Orinoco, because it has allowed the spill of toxic residues in his river basin, reviewed the newspaper So What in its digital edition.

The political leader alerted on the “ecological disaster” that is happening in the state Bolivar on account that the alumina processor has allowed the spill of highly polluting residues to the river father.

“One is caustic soda water and red muds that by technological obsolescence and laziness of Bauxilum are generating irreversible an environmental catastrophe in the Orinoco river”, he assured.

Velasquez based his denunciation on a report done by the red mud management of Bauxilum the 1 of April of 2009, where they alert of the situation of contamination of the Orinoco river and the declaration of emergencia done by the board of directors through resolution JDV-2009-04-E.

The leader showed images of the places where the toxic remainders are deposited, and said that the works of emergencia were paralyzed that contractors carried out with the purpose of to stop the contamination, because “Bauxilum does not pay from year 2008 to the company in charge to make the mobilizations of earth”.

“I want to make a call national, a SOS that we make in the name of Guayana and its workers. We will go with the report of the own company that speaks of the environmental catastrophe to the Ministry of the Atmosphere and will ask for the application of the penal Law of the atmosphere. We will go to the environmental Office of the public prosecutor and we will present/display the case before Greenpeace and the atmosphere Commission of United Nations”, aimed.
