Discovery on DIOS Hotish Project
DIOS EXPLORATION INC. (TSX VENTURE: DOS) discovered a surface outcropping uranium bearing very altered structure over at least 1.2 kilometers early into the 2008 summer field campaign on its wholly owned Hotish project, Otish Basin, Quebec, Canada, with radiometric counts per second up to 45 000 cps. The airborne spectrometric data showed a linear uranium anomaly over at least 2.5 kilometers. From the structural information obtained with the interpretation of a previous magnetic survey, independent geophysicist C. St-Hilaire saw that this uranium anomaly was directly located over a major fault. This airborne anomaly is also well defined on the uranium over potassium and uranium over thorium ratios, showing that there is a preferential enrichment of uranium relative to thorium and potassium. Field work effectively confirmed high uranium cps with high uranium over thorium ratios in the order of 4 to 12 in the in situ rocks.
Good quantities of yellow products were observed in association with the altered horizon, as well as chlorite, biotite. General background is in the order of the thousand cps in the area with several peaks over the 10 000 cps and 20 000 cps. DIOS initiates in July a major diamond drilling program to test the continuity of the newly discovered uraniferous structure at depth as well as its strike extent under the tree cover (airborne anomaly of at least 2.5 kilometers) and also several main other uranium targets on its Hotish uranium property, selected from detailed data gathered by DIOS in the field in 2007.
DIOS generates most of its exploration projects, from scientific conceptual design to field discovery and tries to evaluate from the start feasible economics in relation with access and facilities. Dios' strategy is to generate projects and develop them either alone or through farming out agreements, with the benefit of shareholders in mind.
