I haven't heard anything about the CTO being lifted from GB so I'm assuming it's still in place. Talk about ethics. Why would GB do anything about it? That would mean he would have to pay taxes to CRA and most likely a lot of it. What really surprises me is why the BOD isn't demanding his resignation over this.
