I don't know who Matt Taibbi is and have never read anything of his before, but he clearly has stated just how crooked and inept Wall Street and Government is.

This whole article should be mandatory reading for every taxpayer.

I personally have hi-lighted one snippet, based on something I read this A.M where Suncor is about to purchase Petro-Canada for something like $17 billion Canadian - not a huge transaction in the big scheme of things, but definitely exposing both corporations to a different set of overall scrutiny rules.

Snippet:

Comment one:

Grandma's words ring loud and true even today.

"Look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves".

Comment two:

When my own companny was active,my wife and I used to spend however much time it took to balance every financial statement right to the penny.

Even today, our banking statements are reconciled by our own hands before being filed away.
