We are seeking an individual with strong communication, leadership, technical and operational skills to join our dynamic and fast paced team.

General Responsibilities

• Reporting to the VP Operations, manage technical projects of varying complexity to achieve the defined objectives of scope, quality, time and cost.
• Manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
• Apply recognized Project Management methodology to ensure projects are managed effectively (e.g. managing scope, time, cost, performance, communication, human resources, contracts, materials, risks and quality).
• Document, communicate and administer key project management processes (e.g. scope, schedule, issue, risk, quality, communications and financial)
• Establish Project Execution Plan, Design Plan and to define duties, responsibilities and scope of authority
• Manage and/or work with internal staff, contractors, consultants and vendor resources as appropriate
• Develop and maintain project schedules and financial budget for assigned projects.
• Report project status / provide progress reports.
• Ensure staff and customers are provided with timely and accurate project information and status updates
• Identify opportunities for improvement in the project management process
• Evaluate project and lessons learned via post-project review processes
• Liaise with Operations, Engineering, Project Sponsors and Customers
• Provide support as required to close all project documentation and archive appropriate records
• Proven leadership and communication skills, with business development and client communication skills;
• Act as a resource in managing preparation of proposals.
• Other duties as assigned

Selection Criteria

• Requires specialized knowledge of an engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Project management certification such as Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) is considered an asset.
• Clear understanding and experience of various project management methodologies.
• Demonstrated project management skills such as time management, goal orientation and action focused, pragmatic and self-disciplined, clearing of bottlenecks, providing feedback, team building, planning and scheduling work, delegation, etc.
• Knowledge and/or experience with various QA programs (ISO 9001, TS16949, etc)
• Managed projects with >5 project resources.
• Excellent problem-solving, written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.
• Requires solid and practical experience in the use of project management software tools such as Microsoft Project
• Requires demonstrated experience gained by project managing large (approx.. $1M) projects
• Experience in working in a leadership role within a multidisciplinary team is an asset
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• A degree in an engineering discipline and/or business administration is considered an asset
• A period of at least 8 years in managing projects of medium to high complexity is considered necessary
• Experience managing projects that took complex electro-mechanical products from concept through NPI and into production

Required experience:

• Managing projects of medium to high complexity ( >$1M, multi-year, technical): 5 years
