I don't know the answer to your record high ounces question, but 4,000 ounces isn't the highest and, of course, there is much variation in what has been used for as assays samples. The Cresson Vug is notable not only for it's very high grade, but for the amount in the vug, over 60,000 ounces according to some sources. What EVG will eventually find or not in ultra high grade potential depends on conditions not foreseeable at the surface. However, the coarse gold visible in the the cores so far can be taken as encouragement that may be a matter of structural anomalies like the vugs at Cripple Creek in a system that otherwise appear to have the potential. Chambers can form though stoping as one example.
