Explor is a junior Canadian resource Corporation with mineral holdings in Saskatchewan and Ontario. These holdings include mineral properties on which the targets include deposits of gold, base metals or diamonds.
Northern Saskatchewan has significant uranium, base metal and gold resources. A number of these resources have been mined while others are presently under development. Modern exploration and drilling techniques developed over the past 15 years have assisted exploration in the discovery of prospective areas, while advancements in mining technology has led to the development and re-evaluation of previously sub-economic deposits. Over 600,000 ounces of gold and 63 million pounds of copper have been produced in the La Ronge Gold Belt. Here, Explor holds mineral claims totalling 3,503 hectares. Drilling has intersected significant gold mineralization on several of the properties (see property information pages).
The Abitibi Greenstone Belt is unique amongst the greenstone belts of the Canadian Shield in that it has a high ratio of supracrustal to intrusive rocks. It has a generally low metamorphic grade and is known to have a diverse spectrum of richly mineralized deposits. The belt is found in both provinces of Ontario and Quebec with approximately 33% in Ontario and 67% in Quebec. The Belt has produced in excess of 180,000,000 ounces of gold to date. Here Explor is evaluating its 2,200 hectares Eastford Lake Gold Property, south-east of Lake Abitibi, Ontario in the Timmins-Porcupine mining camp.
