Probably good news in that the current legislation, if passed, could have stopped most new exploration projects by any of the international energy companies. Hopefully, the changes that Zuma is asking for is to remove the vague parts of the legislation that gave the government the ability to take over all of a project not just the 20% as originally intended. In it's current form there was real doubt that any company like Chevron, Shell etc. would continue with any development work in South Africa. All that being said, the government in S.A. should have dealt with this long before now, so probably another delay but one that is definitely in our interest.
