State visit to the Republic of Hungary - Meeting with the President of the Republic of Hungary

Their Excellencies met with His Excellency László Sólyom, President of the Republic of Hungary, to discuss relations between Canada and Hungary, at 10:30 a.m., at the Sándor Palace, Budapest, on November 24. 2008. The Sándor Palace in the Buda Castle, finished in 1806, was severely damaged during the Second World War. Reconstruction began in the 1990s and the Palace renovations were finished in 2002. Since 2003, the Palace has served as the office of the president.
