Mr. Jason Bak serves as Chief Executive Officer, Director of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Mr. Bak founded Finavera in Ireland in 2003 as a diversified energy developer. Mr. Bak has arranged finance for Finavera since inception and led the listing of the Company on the TSX Venture Exchange as CEO. Mr. Bak has actively led the development of renewable energy technologies and over 1,000MW of grassroots wind projects in Europe and Canada to mature development projects, most recently resulting in the award of over 300MW of power purchase agreements from BC Hydro and financial support from GE. Mr. Bak also serves on the Bretton Woods Committee in Washington, DC, a forum in which to explore policies and issues at the multilateral institutions that relate to private sector development, commercial opportunities, global financial stability and social responsibility. Mr. Bak has a B.Sc in Applied Physics from Simon Fraser University in BC, Canada.
Mr. Hein Poulus, QC, is the Independent Chairman of the Board of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Mr. Poulus is a Lawyer, Partner with Stikeman Elliott LLP, Director of Resinco Capital Partners Inc. since August 2005 and Chairman since June 2009; Chairman and Director of Finavera Renewables Inc. since October 2008; Director of Tournigan Energy Ltd. since March, 2003.
Mr. Peter Leighton is the President, Chief Operating Officer of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Mr. Leighton is a senior executive with more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles within the energy industry, specializing in execution and delivering results. He was most recently the chief operating officer and, prior to that, the chief financial officer of Accenture Business Services for Utilities, and was also a founding executive of the predecessor company, CustomerWorks LP, and was instrumental in the growth of the business from start-up to its current position as the utility-focused business process outsourcing practice in the world. Mr. Leighton's previous positions include: Development executive for Fletcher Challenge Energy's independent power practice, responsible for managing the development and commercialization of the 240-megawatt island cogeneration project in Campbell River, B.C., from inception through to project financing; Director of the Independent Power Association of British Columbia; Business Development Executive for Terasen Inc., responsible for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; and Finance executive with Amoco Canada.
Mr. Jon S. Lever is the Chief Financial Officer of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. He has been a Certified Management Accountant since 1991, and has experience in senior financial roles with private and public companies in Canada. He is responsible for Finavera Renewables financial reporting, and he is involved with corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters. He has more than 20 years experience, after beginning his career with the chartered accountant firm of Touche & Ross Co. He has been involved with several resource companies, including roles as CFO of Tournigan Gold Corp. and Wealth Minerals Ltd. He is also the current CFO and director of Sunorca Development Corp, a CNQ listed company.
Mr. Thomas Anderson has been appointed as the Director of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Mr. Anderson has over thirty years direct executive experience involved in running companies in the natural resource, forestry, property development, leisure, entertainment and advertising sectors. He has focused on risk management, corporate finance and portfolio diversification. He has a degree in Commerce and Economics and a Masters of Business Administration from the University College Dublin. Mr. Anderson is Non-executive Chairman of Circle Oil PLC and is a director of Terrabiogen Corporation.
Mr. Robert Ian Harvey is the Independent Director of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Mr. Harvey is the founding shareholder and director of B9 Energy. He has negotiated numerous power purchase agreements, wind farm construction contracts, and financings for six wind farms in Ireland and Northern Ireland with a capacity of more than 60 megawatts and the 63 megawatt Kettles Hill wind farm in Alberta, Canada. B9 Energy was formed in 1992 to develop wind farms and has since diversified into operations and maintenance of wind farms, landfill gas, and renewable energy from organic waste. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Economics) from the University of Ulster and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland (FCA).
Mr. David Lamont is the Independent Director of Finavera Wind Energy Inc. Mr. Lamont is the senior partner at Northern Ireland based Capital Trust Financial Management, which he helped establish in the mid 1980s. Capital Trust and its affiliates manage a broad range of investments with holdings in real estate, quoted companies and private equity. Currently the Senior Partner at Capital Trust, Mr. Lamont has experience for establishing and managing regulated investment funds, in which his responsibilities include the funds’ consolidation and audit. Mr. Lamont has considerable knowledge and experience in reviewing single entity and consolidated accounts due to his day to day analysis of potential investments within his firm’s investment process.
