Some useful data:
1) Very interesting. I did a test just now - typing a new message on the Kodiak (KXL) forum has the same error effect as before - the text on the right hand side disappears under the blue bar, the blue bar to the right of the white editor space, as one is typing the message. After posting is completed, all the text appears.
2) However, typing text here, in the Forum Leaders Off-Topic Forum does NOT have the problem.
3) Thank you for the theory that the problem is with my browser configuration. I am an engineer and have in the past come up with similar theories when people post a problem and the issue is not immediately clear, so I understand where you are coming from. It can be frustrating when you don't see a replication of the problem on your system there.
Thankfully or unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), the theory that it's a problem with my browser or configuration has been disproven - by the other members of the KXL forum. I posted the question of whether others are having exactly the same problem. As you can see from the posts, they are.
I am running a standard configuration of Firefox, version 2.0.0.7. However, the various others posters on the KXL forum have various computer systems and I would assume various browsers.
I hope it is helpful that we see that the error occurs on the KXL forum but not on this forum. I tried the SGX forum - same error.
As an engineer I would guess that whatever is difficult between the stock forums and the admin forums (i.e. this one) is a good starting point. Leaving aside that (obviously) there is no tick box here for "admin question or not", I can see already that the code for the stock forums and the admin forums do not branch from the same source - the white editing space in the two is a different size. That is a good clue.
