Re: Understanding the effect of: GOLDCORP WARRANTS EXPIRING JUNE 9, 2011

posted on Jun 09, 11 11:36AM

Pardon my ignorance but, while i know what warrants are basicly about, i dont know whether the warrants' trading action, or their terms, can have the effect of pushing the stock's price to the same level as the exercise price of the warrants.

Is this what happened today - Goldcorp's SP over the last couple of days has gotten pushed to about $45.77 - within 2 cents of the exercise price. This is why i'm thinking that the warrants terms had that effect on the stock's SP. Or is that something just coincidental? Otherwise, i know of no reason for G's SP to just drop down to there all of sudden since the news on the warrants was released.

Thanks for your help, anyone, in spreading some understanding about how this works and what's going on here.
