The Success of Soil Gas Hydrocarbons (SGH)

Proof of the favourable performance of Actlabs’ Soil Gas Hydrocarbon (SGH) geochemistry is now being realized as exploration companies like Golden Band Resources ( www.goldenbandresources.com/html/news/press_releases/index.cfm -March 11 and June 6, 2008 – RKN Zone at the Golden Heart property, see illustration), Golden Hope Mines ( www.goldenhopemines.com/news.php - June 17 and July 12, 2010 – Bellechasse property), and others have drilled SGH anomalies and have successfully intersected mineralization.

Recently Geoscience BC, an independent research organization, tested a large number of geochemical methods using soil sample transects taken over the Mt. Milligan Copper-Gold Porphyry deposit in north-central British Columbia in hopes to find a reliable method to follow up on airborne and ground geophysical methods that together would optimize the location of drill targets in BC environments. This survey proved to be difficult due to the significant surficial disturbance from logging and drilling activities. SGH and the ratio of weak extraction Calcium to Aqua Regia Calcium, were the only geochemical methods that accurately located the mineralization through cover. In fact SGH was able to separate, delineate and identify the Copper mineralized area from the Gold mineralized zone ( www.geosciencebc.com/s/2010-008.asp ) at Mt. Milligan.

The popularity of the SGH geochemistry is nearly doubling every year. By August 1 st of 2010, Actlabs have already received the same number of SGH submissions as for all of 2009. The latest statistics show that 80% of Actlabs’ clients who have tried the SGH geochemistry are impressed, become repeat clients, and submit larger exploration surveys for SGH at a later time.

A latest press release of August 11 th , 2010 by Explor Resources ( www.explorresources.com ) commented on their recent success with SGH over their Eastford Lake Property. In 2009 they submitted a large survey of samples that was levelled and combined with an SGH orientation survey analyzed in 2007. The press release indicated that drilling results this year at one of the SGH anomalies indicated that they had intersected high grade gold mineralization.

With the experience from the interpretation of over 500 SGH surveys, coupled with research since 1996 and combined with these favourable successes, the SGH templates for the forensic hydrocarbon signatures for a wide variety of mineralization is being substantiated. We look forward to the future and believe the best is yet to come.
