I Googled "RCMP Nigeria Scam" and found the Web site of the RCMP that is dedicated to Nigeria-type scams. My small business used to receive a letter from Nigeria every few months and I Googled this site at the time to find out how common they were. The RCMP had several sample copies on their site to illustrate how well aware they were of the phenomenon but also to warn that they are quite helpless to do anything other than to warn recipients about not getting involved. I didn't look for it but it is quite possible that they now have some "gold" information as well. There is a mechanism for USA residents to correspond with them on the site if you are not resident in Canada.
