I read recently that the Central Fund of Canada (CEF) is or will be in the process of purchasing about 210 million dollars of gold and silver based on an equity offering of Class A shares. Perhaps their hand is apparent here. They do demand delivery and have actual gold and silver to back up their units stored in various banks in Canada.
