where to go to sell gold nuggets

Hi guys,

My father in law worked in Alaska for awhile way back in his days driving a cat for a mining operation. He was paid in gold nuggets and has held onto it for this long and is wanting to know where he can sell it. He has approxiamately 11 ounces and lives in Drayton Valley, Alberta. Any ideas where he could sell it and who would buy it off of him. Or anywhere in Vancouver or where I live in Victoria, B.C.. Thanks.
