Short sale restriction

I just had an alert pop up on my IB screen saying that AUMN has a short sale restriction until tomorrow at 1800. Anyone else see this?

I have never seen this "short sale restriction" message before. Would be appreciative if someone here could please explain in layman's terms the meaning and why it would be used? Thanks.
