There was nothing concrete spoken of. EDR (Hugh Clark) hinted that "news' was coming. Brad Cook squelched that conversation, and stated that the upcoming news couldn't be discussed. There was not hint of that on the GPR side across all of the management available. I didn't probe further.

To be honest, the news may not be about merger stuff at all. EDR has a lot of good things happening. In short, I got nothing.

I do see some synergies, but a merger would not solve all the rate limiters for both companies. It would however solve some. EDR has more ore than processing capacity. GPR has more capacity than ore. San Ignacio, and the Bolitos Operation are of close proximity. However this doesn't help having too much ore on the EDR side. EDR has a concentrate to DORE type plant at GuanaCevi. However this is at capacity. Adding GPRs concetrate push things a bit too far. More conctrate capacity is needed in the Southern Operation for both companies. So, a merger could help a little, but it doesn't solver core problems that limit production for either company.
