TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 25, 2009) - Hawk Uranium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HUI)(FRANKFURT:HPM) ("Hawk") wishes to announce that Noront Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:NOT) ("Noront") has provided Hawk with its final report on the diamond drill program conducted on its 50/50 Joint Venture Property in the "Ring of Fire" McFauld's Lake Area, Northern Ontario.

The report provided by Noront relates to airborne geophysical surveys that were completed on the claims in the James Bay Lowlands of Ontario that are subject to Hawk's option agreement with Noront. Based on geophysical interpretations of exploration results, a weakly-conductive drill target was selected for exploration. The samples obtained from that target were tested, and the results returned were found not to warrant further investigation. According to the report commissioned by Noront, no follow-up exploration work was recommended.

As a result of the disappointing results for this project, Hawk has determined to terminate its interest in the Noront McFauld's Joint Venture Project. Unexpended funds that had been advanced by Hawk for this project are expected to be returned to Hawk in the near term, in accordance with the terms of the option agreement between Noront and Hawk.
