TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 9, 2009) - Hawk Uranium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HUI)(FRANKFURT:HPM) ("Hawk" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that J. Birks Bovaird, Walter E. Brooks, C. Nigel Lees, Peter M. Hall, Richard Nemis, Michael Newbury and H. Vance White were elected to its Board of Directors at the 2009 Annual and Special Meeting of its shareholders held on February 26, 2009, by a vote of more than 99% of votes cast. Mr. Nemis (Chairman Emeritus of Noront Resources Ltd.) is a new addition to Hawk's Board, and all other Directors were re-elected.

Vance White, President of Hawk, said: "The re-election of the Board demonstrates that Hawk's investors continue to have confidence in the guidance provided by such a highly qualified group of individuals, and the addition of Mr. Nemis will no doubt help to increase the Company's visibility and its exposure to high quality projects and opportunities."

In addition to electing all of the Board nominees proposed by management, at the February 26, 2009 meeting the shareholders approved all of management's proposals, including the re-appointment of McCarney Greenwood LLP as auditor of the Company was approved by a vote of over 99% of votes cast, and the shareholders re-approved the Company's stock option plan by a vote of more than 97% of votes cast.

Following the shareholders' meeting, the Board of Directors re-elected the following as Hawk's officers for the ensuing year, all of whom previously served as officers of the Company: H. Vance White (President and CEO), Gaetan Chabot (Chief Financial Officer), Walter E. Brooks (Vice President-Corporate Development) and Denis S. Frawley (Secretary).
