Hawk Acquires Additional Uranium Claims in Northern Saskatchewan

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 11, 2009) - Hawk Uranium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:HUI)(FRANKFURT:HPM)("Hawk" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has acquired, by staking, 3 additional blocks totaling 848 hectares in the Charlebois Lake Area, 56 kilometers E-NE of Stony Rapids, Northern Saskatchewan.

Hawk now controls a total of 12 blocks totaling 5,102 hectares in the Charlebois Lake Area, Northern Saskatchewan.

The additional staking is in part due to the results of the 1,499 line kilometers of heliborne VTEM Survey by Geotech of Aurora, Ontario, Canada (as previously disclosed in the Company's press release dated April 7, 2008) and subsequent detail interpretation of the geophysical data by Condor Consulting of Lakewood, Colorado, USA.

The new staking covers the strike extensions of known Uranium showings on adjacent claims and all Priority #1 targets identified in the Condor Consulting Interpretation Report.

The Charlebois Lake Area is known for its uranium and to a lesser extent molybdenum mineralization in pegmatites and migmatites that can occur as lens-like and possibly en-echelon type bodies within dykes and sills.

The area is structurally very complex and it is postulated that the uranium mineralization was introduced simultaneously with the later stages of pegmatite dykes emplacement.

Pegmatite Dyke emplacement has intruded preferentially along complex fault/fracture systems and dilation zones within these complex fault zones constitute favorable locations for uranium concentration.

The VTEM survey was aimed at the detection of conductive zones related to fault/fracture system combined with the magnetic mapping of lithology and structure.

The Charlebois Lake area is underlain by The Early Precambrian Tazin Group, consisting of highly metamorphosed biotite bearing impure quartzite, schist, and hornblende gneisses, which have been intruded by granite and granite gneiss that now occupy 70% of the area. Subsequent tectonics resulted in the intrusion of mineralogically similar pegmatites which in the area are described as pegmatite granite.

Michael Newbury, P.Eng, a "qualified person" as such term is defined by National Instrument 43-101, and a director of Hawk, has reviewed and approved the technical information in this news release on behalf of Hawk.
