Southampton Ventures Terminates Option Agreement With Noront on Moonbeam Property in "Ring of Fire" Area, McFauld's Lake
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 20, 2009) -

NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION IN THE UNITED STATES OR TO U.S. NEWSWIRE SERVICES

Southampton Ventures (TSX VENTURE:SV) wishes to announce that Noront Resources Ltd. ("Noront") has provided Southampton Ventures with its final report on the drill program conducted on its Moonbeam Property in the "Ring of Fire" McFauld's Lake Area, Northern Ontario.

The report provided by Noront relates to the drill results and airborne and ground geophysical surveys that were completed on the claims in the James Bay Lowlands of Ontario that are the subject of a Joint Venture agreement with Noront (see press release dated January 4, 2008). Based on geophysical interpretations of exploration results, three drill targets were selected for exploration. The samples obtained from those targets were tested, and the results returned were found not to warrant further investigation. According to the report commissioned by Noront, no follow-up exploration work was recommended and Southampton has decided to terminate the option agreement with Noront.
