Management, the continuing story

posted on Jul 23, 08 01:05PM

Well, the stock sure took a kicking. What is the solution. It is far more complicated than Clemens Kaiser's response to the question posed at the AGM. His plan B was to look for new suitors. I hope there was no more than 10 seconds spent to come up with that plan. A typical superficial answer by a management member without understanding the full consequences of Roche's decision. It's not that he came up with the answer on the spot because there is mention of Plan B in the annual report posted on their web page. It is an indication of the lack of knowledge and understanding by the management team to running a company.

Yes, the obvious plan B is needed but that is only a small part of the solution. It is the first step, then comes the cure.

In October when Dr. Foster reassumed the position of CEO. It was to be on an interim basis while they searched for a new qualified CEO. That was over 9 months ago. Again, another situation where time ran out before the company could make a decision. Who knows maybe they haven't even started to looK.

No, far more will be required. I see a possible merger with a company having a competent magagement team and doing similar research. If, this is to happen then Plan B must first be executed so the will have something to offer the company in exchange for the benefits of their expertise.
