	August 17, 2009 KOOTENAY EXTENDS WARRANT
	Vancouver, B.C. - Kootenay Gold Inc. TSX.V: KTN ("Kootenay") announces that it has, subject to regulatory approval, extended the expiration date of 2,750,000 unexercised share purchase warrants, which were originally expiring on August 29, 2009 by eighteen months to February 28, 2011. Each share purchase warrant remains exercisable at a price of $1.80 and if exercised the holder will receive one common share of Kootenay. All other terms of the share purchase warrants will remain unchanged.
