Ji En Nickel: acquisition of Canadian mines nodded by regulator

BEIJING, May 21, 2009 (Xinhua News Agency) -- The Shanghai-listed Jilin Ji En Nickel Industry Co. (600432.SH) announced Thursday that the National Development and Reform Commission has approved its acquisition of shares in Canadian Liberty Mines Inc. (TSX:LBE)

The company said in mid-April that it planned to invest 30 million Canadian dollars to buy a 51 percent stake in Canadian Liberty Mines, adding that the deal had been nodded by Toronto Stock Exchange and waited for approval from the Chinese regulators.
