New haulage road being planned in area of Liberty's Redstone Mine

Liberty Mines has applied to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) to build a mine haulage road in Eldorado Township between the Hart Mine and the McWatters mine. The road would be roughly three kilometres long and would eliminate ore haulage trucks from the nearby Stringer's Road. The project has been assigned a Category-A environmental assessment in anticipation of a low level of public concern.
Members of the public who wish to comment on the project or get more information must contact MNR District Planner Justin Standeven at 705-235-1383, or Liberty Mines General Manager Jason Cyr at 240-6450 extension 5000. Comments on the proposal must be received within the 15-day comment period, which expires on August 21, 2010
