I have a unique take on this company. My father bought 40 or so shares about 70 years ago. It became a family joke for decades because it didn't go anywhere. My investment teacher read some information about them to help me figure out if I should invest in them. He said basically that all this company has ever done is wait til someone else makes a discovery. Then they go stake some land as close as possible to the discovery and hope that there will be something good on their land, too.

Now, one of these days, they will get a hit. This may be the time. But I'd rather not invest in them even though it is very tempting given the sentimentality associated with our family joke about MacDonald Mines.
