Mosiac Co. (NYSE:MOS, $50.14, +$5.59, 12.55%) shares climbed on speculation that Brazilian mining mammoth Vale S.A. (NYSE:VALE, $18.05, -$0.02, -0.11%) is looking at further acquisitions of potassium assets, as the Estado news agency reported Thursday. Citing market sources, Estado said Vale was targeting Mosaic. Vale on Thursday declined to comment on the company’s alleged interest in Mosaic. Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc. (NYSE:POT, $91.58, +$3.82, 4.35%) and Agrium Inc. (NYSE:AGU, $40.30, +$1.86, 4.84%) also traded higher.
