Could somebody tell me if bioLytical INSTI™ HIV-1/HIV-2* Rapid Antibody Test the same as Medmira test ?

They are using bioLytical at a test clinic in Montreal.

HIV test provides results in 5 minutes Montreal men who suspect they have the AIDS virus can get fast, free and anonymous testing that delivers results within five minutes.$0$0A screening project called Spot links researchers with storefront clinics in the city's Gay Village.$0$0The test for the human immunodeficiency virus - in which a blood sample is taken by pricking a finger - is considered to be 99 per cent accurate, said research coordinator Mark Wainberg, director of the McGill University AIDS Centre at the Jewish General Hospital.$0$0The test has been approved for use in Canada since 2004 but costs about 10 times more than the $1 standard blood test, whose results are usually provided in a follow-up visit three weeks later.$0$0The new test is in use in some clinics and hospitals, but rarely because of its higher cost, Spot coordinator Claire Thiboutot said.$0$0The manufacturer provided screening kits to the Spot program at a fraction of the original cost.$0$0An estimated one in four people in Canada who are infected with HIV don't know they have the virus, and these people are considered the fastest spreaders of the infection, Wainberg said.$0$0A spike in new infections coincided with better medications that altered HIV/AIDS into a chronic illness rather than a killer disease.$0$0Men who have sex with men remain the group most affected by HIV in Canada. Each year in Montreal, an estimated 400 to 600 gay men are infected with the virus.$0$0"But even one infection is too many," Wainberg said. "The real shocker was the study we did that made it clear as many as 50 per cent of all new infections were coming from people who themselves were newly infected and who were mostly members of the gay community."$0$0About 80 tests have already been done since July 24 as part of Spot.
