Merit Mining Corp. Cancels Non-brokered Private Placement

August 9, 2010 – Vancouver, British Columbia. Merit Mining Corp. (TSX-V: MEM) (the “Company”) reports that it has cancelled the non-brokered private placement of up to $9.0 million, which was previously announced on June 25, 2010. The Company continues to consider various options for advancing its projects following the recent investment of $15.5
million by Hong Kong Huakan Investment Co., Ltd.
