Osram announced that it now offers their first direct green diode lasers. They offer two version: the PL515 has an optical output of 30 mW with a wavelength of 510-530 nm. The PL520 offers 50 mW and 515-530 nm. Both feature a typical efficiency of 5-6% and the size is 3.8mm in diameter.

Direct green lasers are crucial for compact and efficient laser pico projectors. This is great news for Microvision and other companies.
