Wind energy is more of a political issue than a financial. 2, 3 years ago BC hydro considered wind energy to not be a "firm" electricity source.

However nowadays with politicians putting more merit on environmental issues and renewable energy ventures (some going to the extent of vowing to invest billions of dollars in wind energy projects), and with people developing an environmental consciousness, will only lead to more corporate investment in this industry.

And with that comes growth.
