Normabec Announces the Engagement of Haywood Securities to Advise on Strategic Alternatives

ST-BRUNO, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 27, 2009) - Normabec Mining Resources Limited ("NORMABEC" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:NMB) (FRANKFURT:N6M) has engaged Haywood Securities Inc. to act as its exclusive financial advisor, to perform a strategic review of the Company, in order to maximize shareholder value.

The Company is considering all potential alternatives, including the sale, spin-out or joint venture of the Company's Pitt Gold and/or Real de Catorce Silver Projects, investment by a strategic investor or a business combination.

There can be no assurance that the Company will complete any transaction that may arise in connection with any of the above.

Normabec is a junior mining exploration company with a portfolio of advanced exploration projects including: the 100% owned Pitt Gold Project in Quebec and the 100% owned Real de Catorce Silver Project in Mexico.
