You could be right but market makers don't throw away money and the best way to hold down rising price is to throw shares at the buyers until they lower their bid.

Tomorrow will be one to watch. The total volume of shares trading is going to interesting. If it's anywhere near todays volume then it shows day traders and big boys are hitting heavy. Todays 7 million + was surprizing given shares outstanding. If a good portion has been sucked out of shaking hands into longer term holders then it should reduces sellers and push up price.
