There are one or two sites that, I am told, Indian Affairs (INAC) scoped out with Matawa First Nations Management for crossing the Albany. A lot of work has been completed by the FEDS already. Remember, once you Bridge the Albany you have the potential to connect a large # of remote First Nations and create substantial savings for the Feds when communities become road accesable, as opposed to remote. (it makes, I'm told, a big difference to the support funding). The Feds should be at the table or at the very least sent a bill to offset the cost of the road and bridge. Some years ago INAC had a presentation which showed their planning around developing roads into the Far North. I think it came out of INAC Thunder Bay. The First Nations will have some information on this (Fort Hope, I think). So planning was being undertaken long before the ROF, just needs someone to put it all together.
